Mike Cavin, clarinet
Critically acclaimed classical artist

The clips of the Weber 2nd Concerto and Debussy Rhapsodie are from live performances, with different microphone placements, volumes, and differing balances.  For that I am sorry, but "if it's on the tape, its going to be heard".  Thanks to my Sound Engineer, Erny Colunga, for his time and wizardly work in assemblying these clips.  The wonderful pianist is Francisco Rocafuerte, and the Orquestqa Sinfonica de San Luis Potosi, is conducted by  Maestro Jose Miramontes, who gave me permission to use these clips.

Sendero Naciente, by Lilia Vázquez Kuntze  and La Tortura, by Diana Syrse Valdés are the first steps in bringing to the Worldwide audience new music for clarinet by composers from Mexico.  Currently they are available as single movements for paid download at iTunes, ONErpm, Spotify, Amazon, and on many other  music downloading and streaming sites.   Of course they may be previewed/sampled at these sites.  ENJOY!!

Originally written for alto saxophone and piano, Vázquez arranged Sendero Naciente  for clarinet and piano especially for this project.  La Tortura for clarinet and piano is based a fragment of Syrse’s opera, La Tortura.  For copies of the music please contact the composers directly online.
